We were very privileged to attend the wedding of some friends who got married at sandals Grande Ocho Rios in Jamaica.

They haven't stopped talking about it since! They were particularly pleased with their wedding co-ordinator who was with them every step of the way (we maybe not EVERY step). She helped them chose a location for their ceremony that was just beautiful - a quiet, flower-drenched gazebo raised up on the hillside with a completely flawless view of the sea.

The vicar who performed the ceremony was very warm and supportive. He made us all smile and the happy couple will never forget him!

Their wedding was the 'Beautiful Beginnings' theme which comes free as part of your stay at sandals or Beaches resorts. The only additional cost is a local government tax which the resort pay for you if you're staying in a Concierge level room or above. The photographer was very good and made sure to get the very best shots of the ceremony plus some extra setups around the grounds - the cost of the prints was a little high, so be prepared to buy just a few extras and be sure to invite guests with photography skills.

Martha Stewart

Sandals and Beaches have recently made a deal with Martha Stewart to design their range of wedding themes. The 'Beautiful Beginnings' theme is free at sandals & Beaches, while the other beautiful themes carry additional costs.

On our various visits to the different sandals & Beaches resorts we've learned that Martha Stewart is quite a stickler for attention to detail and is very strict about the way her designs are used. She is, as most of you will know, a household name in the USA and her name carries a lot of clout - so you can be sure that sandals will be making sure your wedding is just right lest they face the wrath of Martha Stewart!
