Rayokan Style Villas
For the discerning traveller who appreciates the simplicity and aesthetically pleasing designs of Japanese architecture, the Japanese villas located on the ocean front will be an entirely new and exciting experience.
On arrival you will meet your Japanese hostess who will lead you to your room and help you settle in your new surroundings. You may select your own style of room among three traditional Japanese style rooms such as 'Shin', 'Gyou' & 'Sou' - 'Shin' is formal, 'Sou' is casual and 'Gyou' is semi formal.
When you arrive at your room you will be expected to remove your shoes at the entryway and put on slippers provided by your hostess. Then you will be shown to your room, which will be decorated with tatami (woven straw) floor mats and sliding rice paper screens (shoji). You may find a low table, floor pillows and a small rock garden at the entrance. Your hostess will prepare green tea for you and explain how to put on a yukata (traditional Japanese robe).
A traditional Japanese meal called 'kaiseki' will be served in your private room, or in the Japanese restaurant. Sitting in your yukatas at a low table, you will soon lose count of all the different dishes on the table. The quality and display of the food is amazing.
During your stay in the Japanese rooms you will also have the opportunity to experience the Japanese Tea Ceremony.
