Accommodation

Anse Chastanet offers 49 individually designed rooms, 37 of which are scattered about a lush hillside, and 12 which are nestled within a tropical garden at beach level.

It emphasises the use of local woods and other local products in the room decor and furnishings. Cushions and bedspreads are made from colourful cotton fabrics called madras, the island's "national cloth." Even the resort bathrobes are locally made and have become a popular souvenir item!

The furniture has been individually designed and handmade in the region with the exclusive use of the island woods such as teak, mahogany, green heart, red cedar and wild breadfruit. All rooms have fridges, electric tea/coffee makers and wall mounted hair dryers, and in-room safes. Deluxe and Premium rooms also have irons and ironing boards.

STANDARD & SUPERIOR HILLSIDE

Superior rooms are located on the hillside and are octagonal or rectangular in shape, with 2 twin beds or one king size bed, with ocean and/or Piton view. Standard rooms are slightly smaller than Superior rooms with twin, queen or king size bedding, with garden or partial ocean view.

When booking Standard category, you could be located on either hillside or beachside - the category is based on "run of house" principle which may lead to a complimentary upgrade to Superior or Beachside Deluxe location, at the Resort's discretion. Both Standard and Superior rooms have either clay or tropical hardwood floors, either glass or wooden jalousie louvre windows, ceiling fans and balconies, ensuite bathrooms with shower and toilet.

DELUXE BEACHSIDE

All beachside rooms are Deluxe category rooms. Beachside Deluxe rooms are very spacious rooms with either 2 doubles or 1 king size bed, ensuite bathroom with 2 sinks, shower and toilet. They have clay tiles, wooden jalousie louvre windows, ceiling fans and large balconies or patios. All beachside rooms offer a tropical garden view and are just a few feet away from the water's edge. All rooms at Anse Chastanet are built in an airy fashion that allow for excellent natural ventilation, and all rooms also have ceiling fans. In addition, the beach deluxe rooms at Anse Chastanet are air-conditioned, this being an optional feature as louvres can instead be opened for natural air flow.

DELUXE HILLSIDE

Hillside Deluxe rooms are extremely spacious and individually designed, some in a very open-air style with the fourth wall missing and some with dramatic open roof dormers. Some rooms have a formal separation between bedroom and living room, others are wide open spaces flowing into each other. Clay floor tiles or tropical hardwood floor, king size bed, wooden jalousie louvres, ceiling fans, balconies, and very large ensuite bathrooms with 2 sinks, shower and WC, Piton and/or ocean view

PREMIUM HILLSIDE

Premium rooms are  Anse Chastanet's rooms numbered 7, which offer picture postcard perfect views of the Piton mountains and the surrounding sea by virtue of their very elevated and strategic location. Some Premium rooms have fourth wall missing. All Premium hillside rooms have ceiling fans, clay floor tiles or tropical hardwood floors, wooden jalousie louvres, large ensuite bathrooms.

TWO BEDROOM SUITES

Anse Chastanet offers a few selected two bedroom 2 bathroom suites which are available on request. Suite/room combinations are available in Standard/Superior, Deluxe Hillside and Premium Categories.

INFINITY POOL SANCTUARIES AT JADE MOUNTAIN

Located high on Morne Chastanet, overlooking the Pitons and Caribbean Sea, Jade Maountain is a resort within a resort at  Anse Chastanet. Expect grand sweeping spaces, with your sleeping and living areas and an extravagantly sized infinity edge pool - one in each sanctuary!- flowing into one another to form an amazing floating platform with the 4th wall missing entirely - the result being a stage-like setting from which to embrace the full glory of St. Lucia's twin Pitons and the shimmering Caribbean Sea - a view you are not likely to ever forget.

TREEHOUSE RESTAURANT - CARIBBEAN FINE DINING

Dine in our two open air treehouses overlooking lush tropical foliage and the Caribbean Sea. Celebrating award winning Tropical World Cuisine, a blend of Caribbean with other tropical world cuisine experiences. The dinner menu changes daily and is served in a romantic candlelit ambiance, surrounded by beautiful original artwork. Breakfast is served here daily and dinner is served daily with the exception of Tuesdays.

EMERALD'S - VEGETARIAN CUISINE

Anse Chastanet menus always include vegetarian options and our culinary team is also happy to meet any other dietary requirements at any time. In our Piton lounge near the Treehouses, we serve our Emerald's dinner menu which is entirely vegetarian, showcasing the organic produce grown on our resort farm Emerald Estate in the Soufriere hills. Menu selections offer new tastes and combinations: Appetisers such as Goat's Cheese Fondant, Balsamic Caramel, Apple Curry and Crispy Rain Forest Calabza Gnocchi; Entrees such as Tofu, Smoked Paprika, Sour Cream, Culantro, Cumin and Sweet Potato and Plantain Satay. Dinner is served daily with the exception of Tuesdays.

Anse Chastanet is very actively involved with the island's local farmers to assist them in understanding which produce is essential to our culinary style. Together with  Anse Chastanet's horticultural team, we have recently been further expanding  Anse Chastanet's own gardens, cultivating fresh herbs and fresh fruits which are grown amidst the historical ruins of the Anse Mamin plantation, part of  Anse Chastanet's 600 acre estate. Fruits gown on the estate include banana, passion fruit, tamarind, mango, avocado, oranges, tangerines, guavas, papaya, coconut to name just a few." We grow our own organic produce on our Emerald farm about 20 minutes from the Resort. We only use certified organic seeds.

TROU AU DIABLE RESTAURANT

The Trou au Diable Restaurant is located right on the Anse Chastanet beach. Here we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The lunch menu offers a wide and varied choice of appetisers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and Caribbean and Creole specialities.

On Tuesday evenings, all guests enjoy a special Caribbean culinary evening in the Trou au Diable restaurant, which commences with a cocktail reception at 6 30 p.m. The atmosphere is festive with the entire stretch of beach in front of the restaurant lit up by flambeau candles.

PITI PITON LOUNGE

Lunch can also be enjoyed at mid hillside level in the Piton lounge, away from the beach and overlooking the Anse Chastanet bay and coral reefs.

APSARA

The Trou au Diable restaurant offers a special Indian theme menu titled APSARA on all evenings except Tuesday. APSARA is an innovative fusion of modern East Indian and Caribbean cooking, a celebration of St.Lucia historical and cultural ties with East India.

BEACH GRILL

On all evenings except Tuesdays, we serve a beach grill menu in the beach bar giving our guests the option to enjoy light grilled fare near the water's edge in a casual setting.

AFTERNOON TEA

Afternoon tea is served from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily in both the Piton Bar and Beach Bar, and an afternoon snack menu is also available at that time.

DRESS CODE

Our dress code in the evenings is smart casual. Gentlemen usually wear collared shirts and bermuda shorts or trousers. Light cotton or linen clothing is the most comfortable. At lunch, we request dry clothing in the beach restaurant and a light cover up.

BARS

The two bars - Piti Piton Bar ar the Treehouse Restaramt and the Trou au Diable beach restaurant are open daily and offer a wide selection of tropical cocktails, beers, liquor including also fine malt whiskeys, eau-de-vies and after dinner drinks. WATERSPORTS

ANSE CHASTANET guests can enjoy the following watersports daily and on complimentary basis:

Snorkelers will take delight in the shallow coral reefs which start right offshore and which are easily accessible. At a charge, escorted boat snorkel trips are arranged to other nearby snorkel sites. The Anse Chastanet beach attendants will be pleased to provide sunfish sailing and windsurfing instruction when required.

KAYAK

Specialty kayaks are available at a charge for coastal "Kool Kayaking" adventures: " Kool Kayaking" is St. Lucia's first professional kayaking adventure featuring Prijon sea-kayaks and trained guides.

Experience the natural beauty of St. Lucia from a unique perspective. Conducted by American Canoe Association certified guides, you'll learn proper paddle techniques, wet exits and entries, rescues. Beginners can sign up for a one hour training and join escorted coastal kayaking adventures in these sleek fast- moving kayaks.

SCUBA

Location, location, location! This is the fundamental attraction  Anse Chastanet resort has for traveling divers. It is in the heart of St.Lucia's very best diving: the entire region surrounding  Anse Chastanet is vested into an award winning marine reserve (SMMA) which has been established since 1995 to protect the pristine beauty of St. Lucia's coral reefs.

SCUBA ST. LUCIA is an National Geographic/PADI 5 Star Dive Resort and DAN (Divers Alert Network) Partners in Dive Safety facility, located at the south end of  Anse Chastanet beach. Founded in 1981, Scuba St.Lucia has established itself as one of the world's top diving destinations. Scuba St.Lucia offers great diving and comprehensive facilities for divers of all levels.

Perfectly set up for both beach and boat dives, Scuba St. Lucia offers guests gear storage; a well equipped scuba store; three compressors; rental dive gear and an underwater Photo and Video centre. Nitrox will be available from January 2006.

All dives offered by Scuba St Lucia are guided by an instructor or dive master to maximize diver safety and enjoyment. The marine reserve policy is to "look but don't touch". Even empty shells should be left on the sea bed, and great care taken not to touch or kick the corals so hopefully the reef can be preserved for future generations of divers to enjoy.

KAI BELTE SPA, YOGA & FITNESS

Located at beach level, the Kai Belté Spa was designed by architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy in the same airy and "in harmony with nature" style his resort guest rooms are renowned for, yet affording complete privacy.

Professionally trained therapists offer a wide range of treatments, including Swedish massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology. Newly added services include shiatsu and  Anse Chastanet's own version of La Stone therapy, called Wosh Cho, patois for hot stone. Hair treatments include a tantalising scalp and neck massage, based on Indian massage principles and reflexology. Also available are Ayurvedic treatments.

Considering  Anse Chastanet's popularity among honeymooners and romantics at large, some treatments were specifically developed for them. There is, for example, the simultaneous in-room massage, designed to provide a massage for him and her simultaneously, so they can stay in each others' company. The Couples' Massage Course teaches husband and wife the basic principles of Swedish massage, a popular course actually not only taken by honeymooners but also by anniversary guests wishing to add a new dimension to their relationship!
