When you’re planning your perfect wedding abroad, there’s nothing like a wedding with Sandals. But there's always the worry of what you need to sort out before you take off for paradise – after all you don't want to get there only to find you forgot something. So when you call to book your stay with The Destination Lounge, you’ll need to bear a few things in mind.
First, each island requires that you have been in ‘residence’ for a few days before your ceremony takes place...
- Jamaica: 48 Hours inc. 1 business day
- St. Lucia: 72 Hours inc. 3 business days
- Antigua: 48 Hours inc. 1 business day
- Bahamas: 72 Hours inc. 3 business days
- Turks & Caicos: 48 Hours
*Not including day of arrival
Then there’s the documents you’ll need...
- Birth certificate and passport
- All pages of any court certified final divorce decree
- Legal name changes or legal adoptions papers if applicable
- State issued death certificates with related marriage certificates
- Notarised documents are not acceptable in some cases
Requirements can vary from island to island, so The Destination Lounge will liaise with your personal wedding consultant to get all the details, timings and special extras just right!
The Beautiful Beginnings wedding theme is free if you are staying for 6 nights or more. Government and documentation fees are an additional cost; Jamaica $94.64, Bahamas $205, St. Lucia $269.40, Antigua $288, Turks & Caicos $400 (all in US Dollars). If you're staying for less than 6 nights a flat fee of $750 USD covers the theme, document and government admin.
Here’s some other notes...
- Couples will only be allowed to marry at the resort where they are staying.
- All ceremonies at Sandals & Beaches Resorts are performed by a non denominational marriage officer. If a request is made for a specific religious affiliation, that will be confirmed based on the availability of that minister and the laws of the island. Each religious affiliation determines it’s own fees for services provided and those costs will be passed onto the couple requesting the service
- Additional charges apply for wedding guests who are not staying at Sandals or Beaches.
