Their beachside octagonal cottage suites (Casuarina, Cocoplum, Wild Dilly and Sapodilla North & South) all feature a large bedroom with muslin curtains, French doors encompassing three sides that open to reveal your own expansive ocean view.

Silver Top is a distinctive 3-bedroom thatched-roof villa perched on the highest point of the Cay. Marvelous views of the glistening ocean unfold over the beach adjacent to the villa while the tidal waters from Blanket Sound provide a calming soundtrack in your secluded hideaway. The Cove features a massive open-air Great Room that overlooks the sea on three sides. With a separate wing of four elegantly appointed bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, this private island retreat that is the Cove gracefully caters to 8 guests and affords the utmost in seclusion.
The Great House
The Great House on the Cay serves as a perfect place to rendezvous for meals, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and tales of the day’s adventures. This gathering place, with its inviting wrap-around verandah, is tastefully decorated with art, antiques, and a collection of Bahamian furnishings including comfortable oversized furniture. Enjoy the Great House, built in 19th century British tradition, and relax with a glass of wine while drinking in the tranquilizing panoramic view of the Caribbean.
Meals at Kamalame are always a special event. The menu features Caribbean cuisine incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and other local delicacies. These candle-lit meals are carefully prepared and elegantly presented by Kamalame’s attentive staff. After dinner, gently-aged rum, cognac and vintage port help encourage good conversation and dramatic star gazing from the beach.
Breakfasts are served made-to-order with freshly squeezed juices, home-baked Bahamian bread and other delights. Lunches in the Great House will include refreshing salads, tropical fruit, delicious seafood and tempting deserts. Generous box lunches will help complete a perfect day on the water or a private picnic on the beach.
Tiki Bar
The Tiki Bar is a wonderful spot to base beach, pool or evening activities. With its fully-stocked bar and captivating island music, you will be lured into the thatch-roofed hut and inspired to relax.Elements permitting, they host a Tiki-torch, candle-lit Bahamian beach banquet and BBQ weekly. The buffet is laden with delicious surf-and-turf selections accompanied by the local island twist on traditional dishes. These nights also feature a live “rake & scrape” band that plays infectious island melodies.
Swimming Pool
Adjacent to the beach and encircled with majestic Silver Coconut Palms and expansive seagrape trees, Kamalame Cay’s freshwater swimming pool is perfect for a day of sunning and refreshing dips. With comfortable lounge chairs, fluffy beach towels, spectacular ocean views and beverages at hand in the adjoining Tiki Bar; days spent by the pool at Kamalame will be memorable.
Scuba Diving
The third longest barrier reef in the world is just a mile from Kamalame's shores offering divers and snorkelers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the warm Caribbean waters while experiencing an exceptional underwater adventure. This lush, living barrier reef harbors many wonders from gently swaying sea anemones tucked in brilliant coral to tiny seahorses that gracefully ride the current. Watch rainbow-colored parrotfish, animated pufferfish and majestic shark's parade right before your eyes. Explore the bustling shallows, follow huge grouper through coral caverns, watch spotted eagle rays glide over the deep blue, or just drift along the edge of the dramatic wall that plunges 6,000 feet to the bottom of the "Tongue of the Ocean." Blue Hole dives are also available upon request and all experience levels catered for.Their new, fully-staffed, PADI center situated on the Marina dock offers effortless diving. Let their experienced and friendly instructors guide you around the many dive sites close by. All levels of PADI certification including resort courses are offered. Experienced divers will revel in the 100-foot visibility and amazingly diverse marine life.
Snorkelling
Snorkelling is an activity guests of all ages can safely enjoy at Kamalame. The water off the beach is shallow on the south side, perfect for wading, kayaking and hunting for shells. From the Spa North, the water is deeper providing the opportunity for a quick dip or a way to exercise off the afternoon cookies. Andros Island's barrier reef is alive with an incredible diversity of beautiful fish and colorful coral.
Just minutes away, Staniard Rock has the uniquely spectacular "circle of coral"; it is easily some of the most remarkable snorkeling in the Bahamas. At low tide a garden of Elkhorn coral is exposed. Beautiful breakers crash over the reef, yet there is ample room behind the waves to explore the maze of coral heads. Be sure to keep your eyes open for turtles, nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, and colorful tropical fish.
Exploring the Rat Cay Blue Hole is not to be missed. This trip can be coordinated with a relaxing picnic lunch at Saddleback Cay. Snorkel and explore on your own or let their experienced guides show you their favorite sites. They have all the equipment you'll need and will even pack a delicious picnic lunch. The Marina
The Kamalame marina has eight 22-ft by 50-ft slips, all of which have 8-ft depth at low water. The channel at the creek entrance is marked and has a 5.5-ft depth at high tide and 2-ft at low tide. There is also a channel marker to the north of Staniard Rock to guide passage through the barrier reef.
Guided Tours
If you want to visit mainland Andros, a car with a personal guide can easily be arranged. Each island adventure is unique and flexible - if you run across something interesting; stop and explore, or just let your guide know if there is something in particular you would like to see. Plan your own tour or leave everything to them. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and take along your bathing suit!
Windsurfing & Sea Kayaks
You may want to consider paddling a sea-kayak through the gentle inland creeks that meet the sea at Kamalame's doorstep or test the ocean on the nearby shores. Quietly glide by shore birds, spot bonefish and experience the sea life that inhabits the shallow waters. It's a great way to see Andros Island's fascinating creatures. Guided sea-kayak trips that include lunch are easily arranged.
Tennis
Kamalame has a regulation tennis court that overlooks the ocean, so take your own racket or borrow one of theirs to get some exercise and keep your swing in tune.
