Every luxury will be on offer including breakfast on your private balcony prepared by your personal maid and fine dining at the famous Gary Rhodes Restaurant. The newly opened ‘Heaven and Earth’ spa overlooks their quiet beach.

Verandah 004 Nestled along Antigua's pristine northeast coast, this eco-friendly luxury resort encompasses 30 spectacular beachfront acres traversed by hiking trails and bordered by Devil's Bridge National Park with its dramatic landmark rock arch.

Kayak, snorkel, windsurf or even swim in the tranquil waters of the resort's two reef-sheltered beaches and discover eco-adventures at the resort and around the island. The adventures are yours to choose from.

Unwind at the island's largest free-form swimming pool or indulge in rejuvenating and exotic treatments at the resort's signature Spa Tranquility or work out in a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The 30 waterfront acres that make up The Verandah Resort and Spa have been designed to make getting to the many resort amenities and guest suites an easy journey.

The airport is approximately 45 minutes away.

All accommodations are air-conditioned, single-story junior suites, with 700 square feet and classic Caribbean-style architecture and décor, all with private verandahs offering beautiful water views through sliding-glass doors. Each has the look and feeling of a cosy Caribbean cottage, with white-washed trim and pale-green exteriors and fronted by a welcoming porch.

Inside, emerald-green and apricot touches punctuate the cool white interior. A comfortably appointed floor plan with combined living and sleeping area accommodates up to four guests, with a king-size bed and queen sleeper sofa. Vaulted ceilings create a sense of spaciousness, and elegant touches, like cool granite countertops, wood, bamboo and rattan, bring nature indoors. Convenient exterior connecting doors between adjoining units make it easy for family and friends to stay together at Verandah.

Glistening white-tiled bathrooms offer a deep soaking tub, shower and his-and-her sinks.

Accommodations are equipped with flat-screen, satellite TV, safe, and direct-dial telephone, as well as mini-fridge, microwave, a wet bar with coffee/tea making facilities and iron/ironing board.

Dining/Restaurants

The Verandah offers a range of dining experiences in three exciting restaurants, operated under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Ronaldo Collantes, a native of the Philippines. All three restaurants are centred in an expansive, centrally located activities complex on The Common, overlooking the pool and manicured grounds. It's a meeting spot for old friends as well as a place to make new ones.

Seabreeze, the resort's main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers a wide range of a la carte choices that are sure to please guests of all ages. The lovely, open-air dining room is enhanced by light pine pergolas, ceiling fans and exposed beams and dark wood, with lofty vaulted ceilings for an airy, outdoor feeling. Seabreeze will be offering alternative a la carte dining and themed buffet evenings.

Nicole's, the fine-dining restaurant offers a blend of stylishly presented, Caribbean-inflected cuisine. Warm red walls and dark wood trim create a cozy ambience, and rattan, bamboo and soft upholstered furnishings create a welcoming, Caribbean feel. (There is a surcharge per person)

Casual and fun, the Buccaneer serves lighter, family-friendly fare with an alternative a la carte menu, as well as afternoon tea from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Family Dining

With a variety of exciting venues and an understanding of how different generations travel together, The Verandah makes it easy for everyone to dine in a way that suits them to a tee. From sophisticated to casual-style dining, their three restaurants offer a range of experiences appropriate for guests both large and small. Kids will be delighted to find that their favourite meals are always available.

The easygoing, family-friendly buffet-style meals at Seabreeze make it simple for Mum, Dad, or even the grandparents to find intriguing menu items while the kids can pick and choose as they like. If you're on the move -- as families often are - you're free to come and go as you please, so drop in for a quick meal as you like, while the rest of your family can relax and enjoy a longer, more leisurely meal. Nicole's, their fine-dining restaurant, welcomes all generations. Adults can opt for refined, well-presented menu dinners and a lovely selection of wines by the glass, while the kids will appreciate that their favourites can be found here, too. The Buccaneer offers more casual dining, with crowd-pleasing options like pasta, pizza, burgers and sandwiches that everyone will enjoy. And everyone will enjoy the novelty and fun of afternoon tea, with a range of sweets, cool and hot beverages, and finger sandwiches, served daily at The Verandah.

Lounges and Bars

A total of four bars will keep Verandah guests cool with a wide range of signature cocktails, top-shelf liquor, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages by the glass.

Guests can get into the island spirit at the beachside Rasta Bar, a funky little shack just off the main lobby building. It offers a full complement of nonalcoholic beverages in a totally relaxed and beachy setting.

Guests who don't wish to stray far from the pool can cool off at the Pool Bar, outfitted in natural stone, in keeping with the surroundings.

By night, lively international-style music and entertainment will keep the fun flowing and your toes tapping after dark.

The expansive and centrally located main lounge also overlooks the pool and winding, limestone-walled pathways of the Common. It's the place where guests can meet and socialise, with fun and refreshment on tap for both daytime and night, with décor that blends roughhewn dark pine with sleek granite.

Perched above Lover's Beach is the relaxing Beach Bar & Grill, offering killer views of the entire cove, light lunch, snacks, beer and nonalcoholic beverages. It's the ideal place to pull up a barstool, kick off your flip-flops and enjoy the fresh sea breeze

DRESS CODE: In the restaurants, shoes are worn and bathing suits are covered. After 6:30 p.m., men wear long pants or stylish jeans and collared shirts with short or long sleeves (no T-shirts or tank tops). Women wear dresses, skirts, long pants or stylish jeans and culottes. Tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no "short shorts" or cutoffs) are allowed for both men and women at Seabreeze and Buccaneer's restaurants only.

Swim & Snorkel

With its two white-sand beaches, Verandah guests can soak up the sun on their comfortable beach loungers and cool down with frequent dips in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. The tranquil, protected cove-like bay makes it perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

While at the beach, why not take advantage of complimentary non-motorized water activities such as kayaking, windsurfing, hobby cat sailing and paddle boats. All of the equipment can be found at the Water Sports Centre and if you're new at any of the sports, instructors are ready to help you get on your way.

Dive

For those who want to really explore beneath the surface, diving is available at their sister resort, St James's Club which offers guests excursions to more than 20 dive sites. Instruction is available for beginners and advanced divers, as well as for children aged 10 and up. Equipment rental is included in the price for instruction. Single-tank, two-tank and night dives are available for an additional charge.

Diving sites include Cades Reef, part of an underwater park, and the wreck of the Andes, a three-mast merchant ship that sank more than a century ago.

Mamora Bay Divers - Dive Shop

The Mamora Bay Divers Dive Shop is a locally owned company of experienced PADI certified international divers located at the St. James's Club providing a full service dive shop.

Their open water dive instructor, Linda Swann is their multilingual certified PADI Dive instructor, she offers over 15 years of experience with over 10,000 dives under her belt. Linda has been diving Antigua's best dive sites and surrounding waters for over 5 years. Be sure to pick up a brochure for complete details and pricing.

Golf

Golfers can perfect their strokes at two 18-hole courses. The Cedar Valley Golf Course, designed by Ralph Aldridge, is an 18-hole, 6,157 yard, par-70 course with beautiful greens and sweeping views of the surrounding hilltops and the Caribbean sea. The 5,587 yard, par-71 Karl Litton-designed Jolly Harbor Golf Club course offers challenging play and a lovely setting, with seven lakes and hilly fairways surrounded by tropical greenery. After your game, there is excellent shopping nearby, as well as several beaches.

Fitness Centre

We know that even though you're on vacation, your fitness regime isn't. The Verandah's spacious onsite gym, replete with Cybex cardio, treadmills, weight-training machines and free-weight equipment will help keep your routine on track while you're away from home. You can keep an eye on your form with full-length, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, fluffy towels and chilled water provided at the gym. Yoga and aerobics classes are available as well.

Spa

Spa Tranquility is an expansive and elegantly appointed hideaway for pampering, restorative treatments for the body and skin. Surrounded by French doors that let in the light and beautiful outdoor views, guests are greeted by soothing sounds and a relaxing cup of herbal tea. The décor is serene, with natural elements such as rattan, sea grass, wood and cool, glowing white tile. Tranquility offers three well-appointed massage rooms that offer private bathrooms and showers and a lovely facial room replete with products to be purchased for at-home use. At the spa, a carefully considered menu of tension-beating treatments will leave guests feeling refreshed and recharged. For those who want to turn up the heat, the self-contained sauna is the ideal place to really relax and unwind.

Need to look your best for a special night, or just hoping to freshen up your look while you're on vacation? Tranquility Spa offers a full-service hair salon, so guests can look their best for a special day, or just for the fun of it. Try out a new look with a stylish hair cut, colour or hair style - and even up-dos for your special event.

There's so much to do at The Verandah for fun-loving guests of all ages, where you can mix and mingle at their weekly cocktail parties and barbecues. Enjoy exciting live music, their electronic casino, and entertainment by night, and classes and activities by day.

Kids Club

Kids will have a ball at the spacious and beautiful Kids Club, designed as an ideal hideout and fun getaway for potty-trained children ages 4 to 11, daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. This beautiful facility offers lots of room for kids to spread out, with an expansive, fenced-in outdoor play area shaded by large trees, as well as an

exciting playscape and a sheltered back porch outdoors. Inside, the club is like a cosy undersea haven - surrounded by a beautiful and lifelike floor-to-ceiling mural that will make kids feel like they've walked into an aquarium! Entertained and cared for by trained counsellors, the kids will have a blast making crafts, playing games, or just enjoying some fun, free play on their safe and squishy rubber-mat floors. The comfy nap room is a cosy, quiet place where little ones can peacefully snooze. An onsite kitchenette and private bathrooms round out the Kid's Club facilities.
